Why we built a shop that feels like a neighbourhood market

Small rooms, real conversations, and what a corner deli taught us about selling books.

Before we opened, we spent a year visiting the shops we loved — grocers, plant stalls, corner delis — and noticed they all had one thing in common: somebody behind the counter who remembered what you bought last time.

So we built the bookshop like a good neighbourhood market. Small rooms instead of one big hall. Displays you can rearrange with one hand. A till that's a conversation, not a queue.

Whether you visit in person or order online, a real person picks your books, wraps them, and writes the note. That's the whole business model, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
